Welcome to Kairos Christian Church

Welcome to the Kairos Christian Church website.

As you can see, there are several features for you to explore. Your first initial step should be to register with Kairos Christian Church. While you don't have to register to use the website, there are several member-only features like: commenting on posts, posting classifieds, posting images in the gallery, volunteering for events, voting on polls, etc. that you probably want to take advantage of.

Members of our specific ministries can also gain further access to their personalized webspace based on their participation within a ministry. To "promote" your account, please contact the Technical Issues (Media and the Arts - Web) with your username, and the ministry that you belong to.

While we have made large efforts to identify all the bugs in our website, you can assist us by submitting any bug reports or questions regarding to the website to Media and the Arts Team (Technical Issues).

Last, but not least, I would like to offer a special thanks to the following people/groups:

  • Drupal and the Drupal Community, for their CMS and modules.
  • Gallery, for their Gallery 2 Image Gallery.
  • Moxiecode Systems AB, for their TINYMCE WYSIWYG.
  • JonDesign, and his Smooth Slideshow Library.
  • stock.xchng, for their community of photographers.
  • Tim Madden, for his podcast icons.
  • Dirceu Veiga, for his set of iPhone icons which is used on our resources page.
  • Sophia Pang, who wrote the service information page.

The Kairos Christian Church website is currently being used as a model for future church websites. The following information is provided to other church web developers who may be interested in using a similar setup for their church congregation.

Known issues with the website:

  • Sermons, the first Sermon will be broadcasted Sunday, April 22.
    • Our first audio file was uploaded. Media and the Arts will work to improve the sound quality for future sermons.
  • iTunes Podcast, we are currently registering our Podcast with Apple.
    • We are now using feedburner as a middle man in our syndication scheme. Using feedburner allows us to easily track who has subscribed to our podcasts.
  • G2Image plugin for users with "promoted" accounts.
    • This will allow you to insert images into your pages that were uploaded to the gallery to pages in your personalized webspace. This will appear as a G2 icon.
    • For other Drupal developers: check your g2image file permissions on extraction. In addition, the new TinyMCE module 5.x-1.x now uses /tinymce instead of /includes, so you will need to change your gallery_settings.php to reflect the change.
  • "Welcome to Drupal," this page appears as a "next" option for specific users. It will disappear as we get more content.
    • Partial Fix: Now only occurs for users with "promoted" accounts.
  • Events Module, displays the incorrect "current day" when attempting to calculate it by Greenwich Mean Time - Offset.
    • Partial Fix: Modified _event_user_time() function in the event.module. This however will make event creation a little bit more difficult.
  • Signup module threw a PHP exception because drupal_get_path() did not exist. This would make the whole site crash.
    • Partial (Temporary) Fix: Warning the signup module is still unstable. For now I have re-defined the function call drupal_get_path() if it does not exists. This will ensure that it is defined when called.

Any additional known issues will be listed on this announcement. Enjoy!
